A New Chapter

Next school year, I will be in a new place. I accepted a job at StoneBridge Elementary. I am super excited to be teaching 3rd grade students again! The school is pretty new. It has only been open for 2 years. It is in the Brandon Zone of Rankin County School District. This was not an easy decision. I had made roots for myself at Byram Middle School. I love the people I work with and the administrators I work for. I had been praying for a long time about where I needed to be next year. My contract was due with no extensions or backing out allowed. My interview was not for a few days. I felt God leading me to go to Rankin County...something closer to home. I knew God was testing my faith. I am such a controlling person, detail oriented, and love to have all my ducks in a row. He was seeing if I would allow him to take control and take care of me. My good friend Sadie pointed out to me, "God can't catch you, if you don't jump." So... I jumped! With my eyes filled with tears, I handed my unsigned contract to my principal. The unknown and unplanned is very scary to me. The following Thursday I went to my interview at StoneBridge. I talked with all three principals. I head principal pulled me back into her office after my tour of the school and offered me a job. She told me that she had only done this one other time in her sixteen years. Of course, I accepted....then exhaled. As always, God took care of me.

I guess I was just born to be a Bulldog.

Summer Plans

In June, I will be taking my LAST TWO classes for my masters degree! I take my comprehensive exam July 11th.

Hopefully, by the end of the summer I will be a GRADUATE!!!

Hoppy EASTER

Someone special came to visit us for Easter: Grammy :)

We hit up some Easter sales and here is the loot :)

I looked EVERYWHERE for white shoes. Apparently, they are not in this season, so I go some nude color ones. I heart them. Shoes have always been my guilty pleasure!

I have decided that I need to work on my wardrobe. It needs to be more "grown-up" so I have started small.

All dressed and ready for church

This is what happened when daddy tried to dress Audrie...notice what's wrong? I love him for trying to help though.

Audrie @ 7 months

Audrie turned 7 months April 16th. She now weighs 15.6 pounds. I feel every ounce of her sweetness when I pick her up :) As you can see from the picture, we have one happy baby on our hands. People keep telling me, "you know your second one might not be this happy all the time." They are right...baby number 2 might not be, but I am not even thinking about #2. My #1 is keeping my hands full :) So you may be asking...what are we doing at 7 months?

Well....

Talking...

Looking more and more like her daddy. I call this the "Michael Case look"

Teething. She does have one tooth! She will barely let me look at it much less take a picture.

Play and exploring...

All this growing is wearing her out! and apparently daddy too :)

a little home improvement: plate rack :)

Dad and Nina stopped by this week to see Audrie. They took us to Cheddar's...YUM! It was great catching up with them. Well, Lil'Bit is hungry...gotta go for now. Easter post will be up soon!

Happy Birthday Chi-Omega!

On April 2nd, Chi-Omega celebrate 75 years at Mississippi State University. So, Emmylou and I took a road trip to Starkville for the special event. I am pretty sure the car was filled with constant conversation. It was fabulous! We got there around lunch, and Emmylou said we had to go to a "very Starkville restaurant." So, we went to the Bulldog Deli. You can't get much more Starkville than the deli. Well, it was also Derby Days weekend, so while we were eating all the sorority girls starting coming in after Derby Day events. It was fun, but what I didn't expect was to feel old. It hit both of us that it was been 4 years since we graduated. I didn't realize it had been that long. We could have been in college all over again. Oh well. Afterwards, we did a little shopping, and I got my S.I.L. a b'day gift. I can't say what it is since I haven't given it to her yet. Then, we went to visit Laura at her house. I got to meet her precious little girl, Addison. After our quick visit, we headed to the event! It was in the renovated Union, which is FABULOUS! Totally thought this was going to be like a brunch thing. Oh no, it was an all out program! A really great one too. I thoroughly enjoyed every part. I think ....I know I appreciate my sorority more now than when I was an active. When you are having to always go to Chapter meeting and event after event, you take for-granted what is right in front of you: an experience you will remember forever. I know-CHEESY! I guess you have to live it to understand where I am coming from. It was a beautiful day with wonderful friends and remembering special memories.

Little Home Improvements

We have lived in our house for about a year and half now, and I am just now putting stuff on the walls. Don't judge. I have been taking my time. I didn't want to just buy stuff to have something to fill space. I wanted to carefully get what I really wanted. Plus, once I got pregnant it was almost like life just stopped for a little while, so we could transition to parents. Now, Michael and I are slowly way are way back to "normal" life stuff like decorating (me) and mowing the lawn (Michael). Here are a few pics of some of the "little" improvements. The first being the mantle. I already had everything except for the clock. I still need some candles. I want to get the round ones shaped like a ball. I just have to find them.

The mirror is new as of today.

The whole look.

"Live, Laugh, and Love" canvases by the entry way.

My additions to the kitchen.

It is the little things in life that make me happy :)
