Family Baby Shower

Jennifer, Momma, me, Hilda, and Lisa

Saturday, my wonderful aunts hosted a baby shower for me in Tupelo. It was absolutely amazing! I had so much fun getting to see all my family and and Saltillo friends:) Michael and I are very blessed to have such thoughtful people in our lives!

Friday, I took off work and surprised my brother and momma by coming to visit. Amanda and I were the only two who knew. It was wonderful getting to spend time with them. We went to a fish-fry/baby shower for Luke and Amanda Friday night. The temperature could not have been more perfect. I didn't break a sweat (which is saying something). The food was AMAZING! I can't wait for my little nephew, Preston to be here! I do not know how I managed to not take any pictures this night, but I didn't. I didn't not even get pictures of my sweet little niece, Kate! What was a I thinking? Maybe it is the "pregnancy brain" I have heard about.

I recently had my 26th birthday. Michael took me about to eat at Ichiban the Saturday before my birthday, because he had to work. No worries...I didn't not eat sushi, which I really wanted. We ate on the hibachi grill side. Since Michael had to work ON my birthday, this is what I found when I got home:) flowers and a really sweet card. He is a keeper!

I Wonder.....

Me as a little baby

Michael as a little baby

As the time nears for little Audrie to be here (only 6 weeks), I find myself daydreaming about what she is going to look like. I found these two baby pictures of my husband and myself and wanted to share. I know she is going to be some kind of combination of us two, but I wonder which features she will have. Will she have Michael's eyes or my nose? We have decided not to do a 4-D sonogram, simply, because we want to be surprised at her birth.
What are your thoughts?

Mini-Update on Audrie

Just a little mini-update on Audrie. We went to see Dr. Kellum last Thursday. Her heartbeat is strong, and she is still a mover and a groover:) We are now going every other week to the doctor! We (Michael and I) have been working on her nursery. It is now painted with furniture and baby bedding. We still have a few more items to put up, but it is coming along nicely. I believe Audrie's favorite thing to do is play monkey bars on the right side of my ribs. It is not the most comfortable thing for me, but I hope she is having fun in there. Plus, my feet....as Michael says look like "meatloaves." But, I know it will all be worth it...once she get here.

A Little Hootie Baby Shower

Yesterday, I had my very first baby shower! I enjoyed every minute of it. I felt so blessed to have such thoughtful friends and family. The picture is the door sign that was made my Mrs. Whitney Hull. She is extremely talented, and I was fortunate enough to have her as a roomie for two years at State. Needless to say, our dorm rooms, back in the college days, were always decorated like something off of HGTV (or at least her half was..hahaha). I titled this baby shower "A Little Hootie Shower," because all three of the hostesses are Chi-Omega's. Chi-Omega is my sorority, and we call our new members little hooties. So, Audrie is our new little hootie. Hootie comes from our "mascot," the owl...cute owls...not scary creepy ones. Anyways, that was just a little background!

The invitation table. If you look really closely, you can see the owl.

I just thought this flower arrangement was beautiful, so I took a picture of it.

My "throne" where I opened all the wonderful gifts! Once again....owls decorating the mantel!

Window decorations!

The drinks

Baby carriage of fruit...too cute!

Yummy cupcake tower!

Table decor

The whole beautiful spread. Everything tasted amazing, but my favorite of course was the sun-dried tomato dip! Momma Snow packed it up for me and let me take the left over home:)

Grandma Chapman(Audrie's great-great grandmother), me, and Karon (Audrie's grandmother)

My beautiful hostesses that made all of this happen. From left to right: Emmylou Branscome, me, Whitney Hull, and Kylie Crosland. I can't thank each of you enough!

Like I said before, our little growing family is very blessed. All the gifts were wonderful and will get lots of use!

Labor of Love

Since I couldn't take picture of Michael painting the nursery, I was determined to get some pics of him putting her crib together. So, I quickly grab the camera to take some snapshots.....to find out the camera is dead. It would not even turn on! I was very disappointed. But, being the wonderful and sweet husband that Michael is...he posed for me, after I charged the camera. Michael has been working hard the getting the nursery ready for our little peanut. Painting, building cribs, and moving furniture (with the help from his friend, Alex.) I guess I need to start the decorating!!!!

Michael and I FINALLY bought some couches!!!! We are super excited about our purchases. We have been thankful for our hand-me-down furniture, but our patience and saving has finally paid off. We have been searching and searching to find what we want. It was a journey with a few important decisions. Like...do you get a sleeper sofa? what about a recliner? (Which I learned is called "motion furniture.") Anyways, I am thrilled to have a place for our visitors and us to sit and relax.

So now that I have couches, that means more decorating. Right? Being an adult can be fun!
