Well, I figure when your best friend tells you it is time to update the blog....you might want to get to it. My BFF Emmylou informed me that I am slacking in the blog world, so I decided to "catch-up." It has been a very busy month but mainly with work and graduate school...not all that much fun stuff. But I have posted the fun events that we have gotten to do and some not so fun events.
Changing Seasons
I am so excited my favorite season of the year is here! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the fall. The cooler, but not too cool, weather. The kind of weather that you open all the windows in your house. I love the smell of fall! Yes, fall has a smell! The air is crisper, and the leaves turn beautiful colors. I could go on and on. Do I have my fall decor out in the apartment. Well of course. I posted pics to prove it. I started collecting scarecrows last year. I did not get any new ones this year, but that is because I do not have any more room to put them for now!
fall has to be the greatest season!
My personalized plate made by Emmylou at my bachlorette party with my pumpkin spice candle. One of the wonderful smells of fall!
Good-Bye SallyMichael recently gave his green Saturn 2002, named Sally, to his littlest, or I should just say youngest, brother, Corey. It was a very sentimal moment for my hubby. He has had that car a very long time, but we do not need 3 cars. There have been many memories and long conversations in that car. We went on our first date in that car and almost went in that car to elope. We didn't because our mothers would have killed us. Corey was excited to have new freedom! She was a great car and was very good to us.
Papaw and Mamaw Adams visit Mississippi
Michael's grandparent came down for a visit! We have so much fun getting to visit with them. Everyone came over to Paul and Teresa's for dinner and company. The food was to die for-chicken on a stick with lots of other goodies.
I am trying to remember who all was there....Michael, me, Mamaw, Papaw, Grandmaw Chapman (Michael's 93 year old great-grandmother), Karon, John, Brandon, Corey, Paul, Teresa, Uncle Randy, Jennifer, Melvin, some more children and a couple of family friends.
It is a family tradition to play diminos. It can get pretty heated, especially, when Corey Case is playing. It is always a good time!
The next day we got to go to church together, eat lunch at The Swinging Bridge Fish House, and visit all afternoon at Grandmaw Chapman's!
A not so fun event was Karon, my mother-in-law, had to have surgery. She did well and is recovering. We went to hospital and visited with Aunt Kris, which we had not gotten to see since our wedding, so that was a nice surprise to see her there. Karon, of course, slept a lot while we were there, but, HELLO she just had surgery. We LOVE YOU KARON!!!
Michael and I have starting house hunting! We are wanting to be home owners. So naturally, HGTV has become our new favorite channel. I love to watch the renovation shows and get ideas. We have looked a many houses and found some we really like. We want to live some where in the middle of Brandon and Byram, because we both love our jobs! I long for the days when I don't know when our neighbors are coughing! I can't wait to not have to go warm -up my car 15 minutes before I leave for work due to my windshield being frozen. We are ready to have a lawn to mow and flowers to plant! Only time will tell!
A Good Ol'Country Ho-Down
As I have written before, my dad is in not one but two bands. And yes, they do play at gigs. Tonight, Michael and I went to his band's, Memory Lane, show at the Civic Center in Richland, MS. They played some country music and the young at heart danced! One man fell after five minutes of shaking his tail feather. But no worries! There were no hips broken! The couples were so sweet dancing together. It was REAL dancing...not grinding like what you see now-a-days. I hope I still like to dance when I am that age. The band did great and kept the dance floor full!
OH! Happy 25th Birthday Will Everett!!! Hope you and Ginger are truckin safely!
