Doubled!

Our little Colby has doubled in size since we first got him! Don't get me wrong...he is still little. But, his face no longer has wrinkles, because his snout/nose is now long enough to fill his skin out. He also has so much more energy. All he wants to do is play, chew, play, and chew some more. Just look at that face!

We got Colby his own bed! I am wanting to get it monogrammed, but I am not sure where to get that done. That will take some researching!

Just Little Tid-Bits

I really do not have much to blog about. Nothing major has happened lately. I finally finished the Twilight Saga. Actually, I have been finished since before Christmas, but I just hadn't gotten around to blogging about it. I will have to say that the third book, Eclipse, is my favorite due to the fact that I am team Jacob. Why team Jacob? It is probably the Indian blood in me, and I thought the wolves were really great. Honestly, I thought the fourth and last book, Breaking Dawn, was a little dragged out. I am not going to ruin the ending for anyone, but I wasn't really satisfied with it. But, then again, it is for teenagers. I guess it ended the only way it could have. And, I will continue to go and watch the movies:)
I started back to work. Things have been going smoothly so far. On the first day back the students were like, "Mrs. Case, you are really going to make us do work today?" Gotta love teenagers! My response was, "What else would we do?" Their response, "Sleep!." There is no sleeping in Pre-Algebra! But, I do appreciate there honesty. I have got to get these kids ready for the MCT2!!! It is GO TIME people! I thought we were going to have a couple of snow days this week, but we didn't. I was thankful, because I didn't want to make those days up!
My class is starting soon, January 12th. Our anniversary! My teacher posted some information already. Part of it said that this class was suppose to be one of the last classes we take! I panicked of course. Since, I have only taken three out of ten courses. I quickly emailed the professor about my concern. She said it was due to work load, but I could remain in the class. I am not scared of a work load! Besides, Michael is about to leave for ten weeks, so I am wanting a way to fill my time.
Speaking of my hubby! He is gathering all the items he needs to get ready for the police academy. He went yesterday to get his name on everything. We are in the count down now! I am not looking forward to him being gone, but I know this is a step forward for our family!
We have decided to join a church! I am super excited about this! I am looking forward to getting involved and making new friends! We are going to be filling out volunteer sheets this weekend. Hopefully, we can get it all done before Michael leaves.
I am sticking with my life resolution: "let go, and let God." Michael even said that he has noticed a difference in me! I will say...life has seemed to be easier. I feel one hundred pounds lighter not worrying and stressing about every little thing. Thank you Jesus! You are THE MAN!
Colby is still doing well. He has gotten use to us working all day. Most of the time he is asleep when we get home. We are now feeding him twice a day instead of three times a day. Still mush though, but his teeth are really coming in. He bites and chews everything! I even saw him trying to chew on my baker's rack, which is cast iron. He didn't get very far with that one. He is very entertaining to watch. I guess that is all for now!

Bringing in the New Year

Last night, Michael and I decided to spend New Year's Eve at home. We ordered out food and rented a movie, Away We Go. If you have not seen it, I recommend watching it. It is super cute. Michael and I enjoyed just getting to spend time together. It is not long until he goes to the police academy....about three weeks. I guess we are not a very exciting couple. Maybe next year we will go out on town. It doesn't really matter to me, as long as we together. I know....super cheesy, but I don't care. We talked about what we were looking forward to in 2010. Who knows what this next year has in store. Instead of making a New Year's resolution, I am going to make a Life Resolution. My Life Resolution: Let Go, and Let God. I know it is not going to be easy, but this is something I have needed to do for a long time. I hope everyone has an amazing 2010!

2009 Rewind

Let me count my blessings as I rewind 2009!. It has been a great year, and the Lord has definitely been taking care of my hubby and me. Some of the fun things about a new year is looking back over the previous year and seeing how much has changed, seeing if anything stayed the same, and making plans and dreams for the new year.

In 2009..... (in no particular order)

1. Michael and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary by going to a bed and breakfast in Natchez, MS and visiting the beautiful antebellum homes.

2. Michael made the big decision to become a police officer.

3. We celebrated the birth of our precious little niece, Katherine Tally Cantrell.

4. We moved back home to the Jackson area.

5. I started graduate school to get my Master's Degree.

6. I started a new job as a 7th grade Pre-Algebra teacher.

7. My mom got married to a man she met on the INTERNET. The man, Benny, is great! They are very cute together.

8. Michael got a job with the Brandon Police Department.

9. We bought our first home!

10. Michael's brother, Brandon, got engaged.

11. Michael's parents bought a house!

12. Our family grew- We love our Colby! I should probably change the title from A Couple of Cases, since a couple means two...and we now have three!

Colby's Day Out

Today was Colby's for vet visit, so I had to get directions on how to get there from Michael last night. He did a fabulous job with giving them with landmarks and street names and being patient with me as I wrote them down. The directions were about a page of my little notebook I use for my to-do lists. After I read them back to him, I looked up and said, "You do realize that I get lost in Northpark." Northpark is the mall that I have shopped at my whole life. What can I say? I am directionally impaired. I have no sense of direction, and I accept this about myself. Michael assured me that he would have his phone on him, and he programmed the vet clinic into the GPS. What I sweetie:) Now you would think with all this preparation that I could get there without a hitch. Well, leave it to me to get lost! I followed the directions on paper and the GPS. I thought the GPS was saying the vet clinic was a Shell gas station. Apparently I did not have the GPS zoomed in enough, ( I am also technologically challenged....not a good combination) because you could see the vet clinic from the gas station. I stayed planted at the gas station until Michael came and rescued me, and I followed him the rest of the way.

Once we got inside, I filled out all the paper work and such. Everyone loved Colby saying how adorable he was. A little girl was also in there, and she was an outgoing little thing. She went right up to Michael and started petting Colby and talking with Michael. Then she asked to hold him, and Michael let her. I did not say anything, but I was really nervous. I did not know this little girl. What if she dropped him? I would have to make a scene. I sighed and figured Michael had it under control. They called us to the back and checked out Colby. He did good. He just whined and whimpered a little. He got his worm medicine and shot to prevent Parvo and Distemper. We wanted this done as soon as possible with Michael having to be around so many sick dogs at work. Colby cried when they gave him is shot. I don't blame him, because it was a pretty long needle, which I am deathly afraid of. Dr. Kirby, who by the way is fabulous, gave us more worm medicine to give Colby in a week, and said we need to come back in three weeks. I was ready to make the appointment, and Dr. Kirby told me that the clinic is open on SATURDAYS with no appointments, just walk-ins! Have I mentioned Dr. Kirby is fabulous?

After the vet visit, I followed Michael back to the Police Department and got to meet some of the people he works with. Colby got to meet them too! He did so well visiting where his dad works. We are such proud parents!

The Best Gift of All

The best gift of all during the Christmas season is getting to spend time with family and friends. While unwrapping presents can be exciting, it does not measure up to the joy of giving to others. We must not forget the real reason we should be celebrating- our Savior was born!

Michael and I were blessed to be able to see all of our families. We started on the Saturday before Christmas and drove up to Tupelo. The first stop was lunch at Dad's and Nina's. Nina cooked a fabulous lunch, and of course, Kate was the entertainment...especially when we opened the presents. The next stop was my Granny's where Luke and I got to give her her gifts. Then, onto the Tally Christmas for dinner and a present swap. Before heading to Luke and Amanda's we swung by John and Courtney Vines for coffee and a chat. We definetely crashed that night! Sunday morning, we went to church and came back to Luke and Amanda's for lunch and even MORE presents. That afternoon was when Mom and Benny took Michael and me to get Colby. What a happy day! ...or at least until I got the stomach bug. I will not tell that story again. Mom and Benny made a stop at our little home for a couple of days. Lastly, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we spent time with Michael's family.
