See You in July :)

During the month of June, I will be finishing up my LAST two classes for my master's degree at Delta State University. So, I will not be blogging. I figure it would be pretty boring to read about my class discussions, quizzes, exams, and projects. I take the BIG COMPREHENSIVE EXAM on July 11th. See you later blog world!

Johnathan Sage Graham is Coming Soon

So exciting! Amber, Michael's cousin, is pregnant with her baby #2. Alex is going to have a baby brother. Today, I helped Karon and Aunt Kris throw her a baby boy shower. The pic above is the stuff I made for Amber and baby Johnathan :)

Amber's corsage.

The diaper cake. Ironically, I made this before I even knew the shower had a turtle theme. I love when things just work out.

The cake made by Kelly. It was so good that it melted in your mouth....literally. It was butter pecan flavored. YUM!

The spread.

Amber (the cute little mama) and I with our little ones: Alex and Audrie. I think they are friends already!

The family :)

It was a wonderful day !!! We can't wait for little man to get here!

New Stuff for Audrie Louise

There is my handy-man putting together Audrie's highchair! Since, Ms. Bertha, her daycare teacher told me she was sitting in the highchair feeding herself a bottle, I thought we might need to be getting one ourselves.

The finished product

First time sitting and eating in her highchair. You can't really tell in the picture, but she looked tiny in person sitting in this huge high chair. My Audrie is just a petite little thing.

Next, Michael put together her Pack-n-Play. Uncle Luke and Aunt Sissy gave Audrie this when I was preggo with her. We used it as a bed when she was first born. Well, now that Audrie is rolling EVERYWHERE, I had to get it out again for her to play in. I was hesitate about it at first...but I am getting use to...so is Audrie.

My girl knows how to play!!

A Soft Touch

Some of you may know that I am a BIG HGTV fan. I learn a lot from watch their design shows. One lesson I have learned to soften a room is by adding fabric. So, that is what I did...or Michael did this weekend. The ideas were mine though. I started with stumbling upon these pillow COVERS. Yes, covers. I got six new looking pillows for the price of 2 new pillows. I love when happy accidents happen. And...it happened at Lowe's of all places.

Then came curtains.

The finished look. I have to give Michael the credit for the handy-man work. He even steamed the curtains. Can you believe it? I have me a keeper.

I took a pic to prove it.

I am truly blessed to have a man love me enough to steam curtains.
Love you Michael !

8 Months Old

Happy 8 Months to Audrie!!!
Audrie now weighs 16.2 pounds. She is still a lil'bitty thing for her age, but we are totally okay with this. She eats EVERYTHING. The only food she does not like is carrots.
I can't say I blame her.

She now has 2 TEETH! The second one just started showing. I am still trying to snag a pic of them. Audrie is taking this teething business very well. I have yet to open the baby Orajel. She does wake up whimpering at night sometimes, but we just stick her paci back in her mouth and she is good to go or...sleep. Whitney, I did buy a baby toothbrush this weekend. No worries, I will be brushing her baby teeth. I just need to find the right kind of toothpaste. Any new moms want to tell me what to use, I would be grateful.

So what is Audrie doing at 8 months.....

Looking at herself in the mirror a lot. I haven't figured out if she likes her reflection or she likes chewing on the rim of the mirror. Either way, I got a cute pic out of the deal.

Audrie is working hard on crawling. She is VERY close. She is also working on sitting up.

She now likes to snuggle. How precious is this????

Ms. Bertha told me today when I picked her up from daycare that she fed herself her bottle in the highchair!!! This is all happening so quick!

Also, I have to pick up Audrie as soon as she sees me at daycare or she cries. I don't like her crying, but I am glad she misses me :)

My First Mother's Day

Michael had to work Mother's Day weekend, but he did take the actual Mother's Day off for me. He came home with these beautiful lilies, because he knows how much I love them. He even picked out the vase. I was impressed. They are sitting on our table, so I get to stare at them every morning while I drink my cup of coffee.

This was "the gift"
Michael bought me a blue sapphire ring. Blue sapphire is Audrie's birth stone (September). I am going to take it to get sized this weekend. I can't wait to start wearing it! I think it is gorgeous and super thoughtful!!

My best Mother's day gift is right here....
Being Audrie's mother has been the biggest blessing in my life. I wake up every morning look forward to spending time with her. She has taught me many lessons. I call her my catalog baby...in other words...if you were able to order babies out of catalogs, she is what you would order. I am sure all moms feel this way. She is just so happy all the time! She plays and plays and then plays some more. I have to force her to sleep. She eats like a champ-this is a Case and Cantrell quality. She has the sweetest spirit about herself. There is no doubt she is heaven-sent!

Michael and I are both thankful to have wonderful mothers in our lives.
They....
nurture
hug and kiss
let us grow
let us make mistakes
listen
and most importantly...
they LOVE us...no matter what

We love you both!!!

A New Chapter

Next school year, I will be in a new place. I accepted a job at StoneBridge Elementary. I am super excited to be teaching 3rd grade students again! The school is pretty new. It has only been open for 2 years. It is in the Brandon Zone of Rankin County School District. This was not an easy decision. I had made roots for myself at Byram Middle School. I love the people I work with and the administrators I work for. I had been praying for a long time about where I needed to be next year. My contract was due with no extensions or backing out allowed. My interview was not for a few days. I felt God leading me to go to Rankin County...something closer to home. I knew God was testing my faith. I am such a controlling person, detail oriented, and love to have all my ducks in a row. He was seeing if I would allow him to take control and take care of me. My good friend Sadie pointed out to me, "God can't catch you, if you don't jump." So... I jumped! With my eyes filled with tears, I handed my unsigned contract to my principal. The unknown and unplanned is very scary to me. The following Thursday I went to my interview at StoneBridge. I talked with all three principals. I head principal pulled me back into her office after my tour of the school and offered me a job. She told me that she had only done this one other time in her sixteen years. Of course, I accepted....then exhaled. As always, God took care of me.

I guess I was just born to be a Bulldog.

Summer Plans

In June, I will be taking my LAST TWO classes for my masters degree! I take my comprehensive exam July 11th.

Hopefully, by the end of the summer I will be a GRADUATE!!!

Hoppy EASTER

Someone special came to visit us for Easter: Grammy :)

We hit up some Easter sales and here is the loot :)

I looked EVERYWHERE for white shoes. Apparently, they are not in this season, so I go some nude color ones. I heart them. Shoes have always been my guilty pleasure!

I have decided that I need to work on my wardrobe. It needs to be more "grown-up" so I have started small.

Audrie's Easter basket

All dressed and ready for church

This is what happened when daddy tried to dress Audrie...notice what's wrong? I love him for trying to help though.

Audrie @ 7 months

Audrie turned 7 months April 16th. She now weighs 15.6 pounds. I feel every ounce of her sweetness when I pick her up :) As you can see from the picture, we have one happy baby on our hands. People keep telling me, "you know your second one might not be this happy all the time." They are right...baby number 2 might not be, but I am not even thinking about #2. My #1 is keeping my hands full :) So you may be asking...what are we doing at 7 months?

Well....

Talking...

Looking more and more like her daddy. I call this the "Michael Case look"

Teething. She does have one tooth! She will barely let me look at it much less take a picture.

Play and exploring...

All this growing is wearing her out! and apparently daddy too :)

a little home improvement: plate rack :)

Dad and Nina stopped by this week to see Audrie. They took us to Cheddar's...YUM! It was great catching up with them. Well, Lil'Bit is hungry...gotta go for now. Easter post will be up soon!
