Wrapping Up the Summer

I completed my graduate school courses for the summer! So, I am taking a break until January. ( I kind of have big event that is happening in October-giving birth to Audrie). I want to be able to focus all my energy and attention on Audrie this fall. I only have two more classes left until I am finished with my master's degree!
As you may know, I LOVE to read. So, I have kind of gone on Nicholas Sparks benge lately. Which is a little bit of a surprise to myself, because I swore that I would not read his books anymore due to him always have a character die in his books. I was desperate for something to read, so I picked up one of his books in Walmart and figured "why not?"
I started with The Last Song. I have to say I did enjoy it, but I believe it is more for a younger audience. I mean, Miley Cyrus plays the main character in the movie, which I have not seen.
Next, I read Dear John. I really would reccomend this book. I am not going to say what the ending is, but I will say it is a real life ending and a picture of the "true love" is. I also watched the movie. I always set too high of expectations for movies based on books. I believe in the saying that books are better than movies. But, it is always a pet-peve of mine when movies alter events from the books. It was still an okay movie to watch, but the book is way deeper.

I am about to begin reading The Choice. I am hoping it is as good as Dear John!

I am planning on finishing up my summer break with reading The Lucky One.

A Mother's Love

Since I couldn't go to the Pennsylvania wedding, my momma came to visit me! I had not seen her since Easter, so I was super excited! She stayed for a week. I have to say, a mother's love never goes out of style. I was such a joy getting to spend time with her and catch up on life. We even got to go and order the baby crib! I did not have to lift a finger while she was here. She cleaned my house, did my laundry, cooked all the meals, did all the dished. I thought to myself....why did I leave home? Just kidding. But, it was nice to have a break from the house work. My mom and I share a love for planting flowers. In my current condition, it is a little difficult to bend over to dig and plant, so we got some flowers....and momma went to work.

I Hear Wedding Bells!

Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Case
July 10, 2010

Michael's brother, Brandon got married! The wedding was in Pennsylvania, so I did not get to travel with him. Michael was the best man. I can only write about what I heard, so sorry it is not too detailed. Michael HATES flying with a passion, so he drove without a working air-conditioner. The part came in the day after he left. Irony, gotta love it! He made it there safe and sound. The event began on Thursday with the tux fitting. Then, that night there was a cookout at Heather parent's place. Friday, was the rehearsal and dinner. Saturday, the wedding and reception. Sunday, opening the wedding gifts. I heard the church was beautiful and the reception was a blast! Being the best-man, I warned Michael to have a speech ready-just in case. Michael has never jumped at the chance to speak in public. But, he said that he did okay. I wish I could have been there to see him in his tux. I am sure he was super handsome:)

From the looks of the picture, I think Brandon has got this husband thing down!

Brandon and Heather at the reception. We love you both! We hope you have a wonder, fabulous, and long happy marriage!

Better Late Than Never

I know this is super late, but I can't forget to write about Michael first Father's Day or Father-to-Be-Day!(graduate school had kept me super busy) Unfortunately, he did have to work, but I made sure he was treated like a King when he was home. Michael has wanted a ShamWow for a very long time, so that's what I got him. I love my husband, but he is not easy to buy presents for. My mother-in-law can vouch for that. Every time I have asked Michael about something he would like...his response is "I don't need anything," or "I'm good." So, I have to pick up little hints to figure what to get him for any special occasion, which make me really nervous when buying him a gift. But, extra rewarding when he likes it. He usually says something like, "How did you know?" and I respond, "Ummm I just listen when you talk."

Michael is going to such a wonderful dad to Audrie. He already is. He is so loving, patient, kind, and gentle. The past couple of days he has been painting the nursery! I wanted to get a picture, but you know being pregnant and paint fumes do not mix too well.

Michael's two favorite summer pastimes: watering the grass and mowing the grass I have never seen anything like it, but I find it cute!
