Spreading the News - We are having a BABY!

Michael and I are so excited that we are going to have our first baby! This is the picture of my first sonogram. I am 7 weeks along. The top little peanut shape is the baby. The bottom little blob is supposed to be a yoke sack? or something....I don't really remember what the nurse called it, but it is NOT another baby. No twins for us! Back to the peanut....the right side is the head and the other end is the baby's bottom. The baby is 1 centimeter long or about 1/2 an inch. The nurse said that the arms and legs are starting to grow. We also got to hear the heartbeat! That was our favorite part of the whole day. It was the greatest thing to hear! I go back on March 17th for my next visit. We will not know the sex of the baby for at least another 10 weeks. Yes, we are going to find out whether our baby is a boy or a girl. This is going to be a great journey!
How did I tell Michael? Well, this is a fun story! It was on a Thursday morning, Karon, my mother-in-law, had spent the night, so she was there. Michael would be coming home that night. I had to go to a conference for work in Nathcez, MS that afternoon. I would not get to see Michael until I got home from that in a day or two. I decided to take a pregnancy test just for the heck of it. I don't know why I wanted to take one. I just had the weird urge to do so (probably divine intervention). I have had many negative pregnancy test, so I was waiting to see that I was not pregnant. Then, the plus sign showed up! I thought, "What??? Seriously??? Are you kidding me??? YEAAAAAA! Oh crap, I can't say anything. I have to Michael first. I have to put my game face on." You know how moms can be. They know things about you before you even know them! So, as I got ready I kept staring at the plus sign. Thinking...really? I hid the pregnancy before leaving for work. Remember, I haven't even seen Michael since that past Sunday. Well, I was at my hotel room in Natchez getting ready to go to the first meeting. He called. I should have won an oscar for my performance! I did not crack! I wanted to tell him so bad! When I got home from the conference, I snuck the pregnancy test in the refrigerator and kindly asked Michael to come help me decide what to cook for dinner. I just sat and watch as he scanned the food options. Then, he say the plus sign. He looked at me and back at the pregnancy test and back at me and said, "Are you serious?" I said, "Yes." We hugged and kissed of course. He took me out to McAllister's to celebrate. On the way home, we picked up a couple more preggo tests from Walgreens. They both said positive. So....we figured....WE ARE HAVING A BABY!

We had a blast tell our families and friends. Everyone is very happy! We feel so very blessed! God is GOOD!
